“My dream at HCBC
is to see more and more people become active disciples of
Jesus Christ. While conversion is the first step in
becoming a disciple of Christ, it is not the end of the process.
Discipleship is a lifelong learning and growing process.
For this reason my ministry has a strong focus on teaching
and leadership development as well as evangelism. Through
helping Christians grow in their walk with Christ as well
as discover their spiritual gifts, I expect to see a strong
leadership team develop in the coming years. With this
leadership team we will continue to develop a balanced ministry
of worship, evangelism, ministry, Christian education, and
missions.”
Pastor Cochran was
born in Dalton, Georgia and graduated from Dalton High School
in 1972. He is also a graduate of Luther Rice Seminary,
Covington Theological Seminary and Liberty University.
He holds the Doctor of Ministry Degree. Danny has served
Holly Creek Baptist Church since 2000. This is the third
church in his twenty-four years of pastoral ministry.
His two previous pastorates were at Tarklin Valley Baptist
Church in Knoxville, Tennessee and Liberty Baptist Church
in Dalton, Georgia. In addition to his ministry at Holly
Creek, Danny is a frequent speaker in revival services and
church conferences. He writes regular articles for the
local newspaper and has presented the morning devotion for
both the Georgia House of Representatives and the Georgia
State Senate. Mission trips have taken his ministry
to Russia, Romania, Honduras, and the Caribbean.
Danny and his wife Tina have two adult sons. Ray serves
as youth pastor at Liberty Baptist Church in Dalton and is
married to Traci. Stephen and his wife Kelly are also
active as teachers in Liberty Baptist. Danny's hobby
is hunting. He loves to spend time with his coonhounds
in the mountains of North Georgia and frequently uses hunting
stories as sermon illustrations.
