“My passion at Holly Creek Baptist Church is to prepare a church that has served Murray County since 1848 to continue making an impact in the county and surrounding area in this and the coming generation.  My vision for HCBC is that it be a church that is committed to the eternal Word of God while adjusting to the needs of a changing world, a church that is committed to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a spiritually starving world, a church in which the members are devoted to one another as members in the family of God and church that is engaged in dynamic worship that exalts our great God.”

Pastor Cochran was born in Dalton, Georgia and graduated from Dalton High School in 1972.  He is also a graduate of Luther Rice Seminary, Covington Theological Seminary and Liberty University from which he holds the Doctor of Ministry Degree.  Danny has served Holly Creek Baptist Church since 2000.  This is the third church in his thirty-three years of pastoral ministry.  His two previous pastorates were at Tarklin Valley Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee and Liberty Baptist Church in Dalton, Georgia.  In addition to his ministry at Holly Creek he serves as an adjunct professor at Tennessee Temple University.  He has been honored to serve as guest chaplain for the US House of Representatives, the Georgia House of Representatives and the Georgia State Senate.  Mission trips have taken his ministry to Russia, Romania, Honduras, and the Caribbean while leading study groups have taken that ministry to Israel, Jordan, Greece and Italy.

 
Danny and his wife Tina have two adult sons.  Ray serves as pastor of Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Dalton and is married to Traci.  They have one daughter, Makinnley.    Stephen and his wife Kelly along with their two daughters, Danielle and Alyson, are actively involved in the Holly Creek Church.   Danny's hobbies are hunting, motorcycle riding and bicycle riding.  Stories about his raccoon hunting in the mountains of North Georgia often find their way into his sermons.
