HCBC Women’s
Ministry
Women Sharing, Supporting & Serving in Jesus’ Name
The Women’s Ministry welcomes you to Holly Creek Baptist
Church. Our goal is to make each woman feel comfortable and
connected so that you will become a committed member of the
body of Christ and our HCBC church family.
EVENTS: The Women’s Ministry sponsors several events
each year to 1) give the women of our church and community
an opportunity to grow in the knowledge of God’s Word,
2)reach those who don’t know Jesus as their Lord and
Savior, and 3) celebrate the relationship we have as sisters
in Christ. We hope that you will join us for these annual
events.
BIBLE STUDY: Throughout the year we offer women opportunities
to be involved in small group Bible study. We have done studies
authored by many of today’s strongest women of faith
such as Kay Arthur, Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, Jennifer
Rothschild and Mary Kassien. Not only is this a time to study
God’s Word, it is a place to come with questions, prayer
concerns, and burdens that can be shared with the other ladies
in your small group. Most importantly, it is a time to let
God speak to you through the truth of His Word. You will want
to look for information regarding these studies and make plans
to attend.
MINISTRY: The purpose of ministry is to serve Christ in a
tangible way in the church and the community. Many of the
members of the women’s ministry team are working within
our existing church ministries to serve children, youth and
adults. As the women’s ministry grows, we hope to expand
the number and types of ministries in which we are involved.
Currently, our ministry focus is to be Titus 2 women…providing
mentorship to women who are new Christians, as well as women
new to our church. We hope that you will be blessed through
this ministry and will choose to be a mentor to another woman
at some point in time.
If you have any questions about the women’s ministry
or would like to be involved, please contact Lynn Duncan,
our Women’s Ministry Team Leader at lmduncan@windstream.net

Current Ministry Project
Samaritan’s Purse – Operation Christmas Child
The Women’s Ministry is currently involved in collecting
shoeboxes and items for shoeboxes in conjunction with Samaritan’s
Purse - Operation Christmas Child. If you would like to help
with this ministry project, you can bring a filled shoebox
or items that can be put in a shoebox to be sent to a child
around the world. (See details below.) As the children receive
these gifts, they also hear the gospel message of the love
of Jesus. The deadline is November 19. For more information,
call the church office (695-8552).

Christmas Child
Help give a gift of joy & a message of God’s love
to children around the world
Since 1993 Samaritan’s Purse has shared the Good News
of God’s love with the
poor children of the world. Shoe boxes filled with simple
gifts are given to these
children as a way to introduce them to Jesus Christ. Local
believers follow up with
evangelistic programs giving them the chance to learn about
and receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. This year the
HCBC Women’s Ministry and our GAs will be coordinating
the efforts of our church to participate in this worthwhile
program. Our goal is to send 75 shoeboxes to Samaritan’s
Purse. Won’t you make a difference in the life of a
child this Christmas by helping us reach our goal?
How to Pack a Shoe Box
1) Use an empty shoe box or a small, store bought plastic
container. Pack the shoebox with items like those listed below.
You can wrap the box (lid separately) but wrapping is not
required; or put holiday issue paper in the plastic container.
2) Determine whether your gift will be for a boy or girl,
and the child’s age category: 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. Mark
the correct age category on the box with a label. If you don’t
have a label, mark the box and someone else will add the correct
label later.
3) If you can, please include money to help cover the cost
of shipping…the recommended donation is $7 per shoe
box.
5) Put a rubber band around the shoebox and leave it in the
hallway outside the library or in the Joy Sunday School Class
by Wednesday, November 19th.
As you pack a shoe box, please pray for the boy or girl who
will receive it, asking God to use your gift to open hearts
to Jesus.
