Andrew was born and raised in Murray County, in a preacher's home. He has never known life outside of church (and he thanks God for that fact). He graduated from Murray County High School in 1999. In 2003, Andrew graduated from Berry College with a Bachelor's Degree in Math Education. He began teaching Math and was assistant band director at Adairsville High School from 2003-2007. In 2007, Andrew went to Calhoun High School, where he is still teaching math. In 2008, he completed his degree in Educational Administration from Capella University. Andrew has also completed multiple courses through the SBC Seminary Extention program and online with Tennessee Temple University.
God has blessed Andrew with the opportunity to work in church for many years. At 16, he became the teacher of his own Sunday school class. While in college, he served as his church music director. He announced his call to preach on a Sunday morning in May 2003 (and preached his first sermon that night). Andrew was introduced to HCBC by his wife, Charity, while they were dating. He did not want to join HCBC, because "you can't be used in a big church." Since that time, God has shown Andrew his sense of humor! He has been privileged to serve in the Youth ministry (as Middle School minister 2005-2009) and Children's ministry (as Children's minister since 2009).
Andrew & Charity dated in high school and college (she went to Dalton State), were engaged upon his college graduation, and were married in 2004. Andrew's family is a very important part of his life. "Without their support and love," Andrew says, "it simply would not be possible for me to do what I do for HCBC!" Charity and Andrew have two children: Olivia (Daddy's Sweetheart born 2008) and Isaiah (Daddy's Little Man born 2010).
